ABIA COMMISSIONER FOR WORKS WAS GUEST AT SQUASH SECTION OF ABA SPORTS CLUB 1926.

The honourable commissioner for works Abia State, Barr Bob Chiedozie Ogu has commended the 16th Captain and members of Squash section of Aba sports club, for their resilience and Unity of purpose in moving the squash club forward.

The commissioner stated this in an interactive section held in his honor as a special quest at the squash section of Aba sports club.
He used the opportunity to enumerate some of the achievements of Governor Okezie Ikpeazu as it relates to road constructions in the state under the supervision of his ministry.

Barr Bob Chiedozie Ogu, assured Abians that the government of Gov Ikpeazu mean well for them as they will soon witness a good road network in Aba which is the commercial nerve centre of the state as the roads across the state will be done in phases.
Noting that with the approval of the Governor, he has streamlined 17 roads under construction that will be completed soon to include Faulks road, Osusu, Eziukwu, Immaculate road Eke-Akpara, Aba road in Umuahia, Abiriba ring road amongst others.

While answering questions from some of the members of squash club, the commissioner stated that, the state government has embarked on construction of some roads with the modern rigid pavement technology in a bid to proffer long lasting solution to combat the challenges being experienced in these roads over the years.

Earlier in his speech, the 16th Captain of Squash section of Aba sports club 1926, Dr Chizaram Bob Ogu who is the immediate younger brother to the commissioner, stressed that the essence of this special squash section session was to invite the commissioner to inspect some of their newly completed squash sports facilities and to use the opportunity to have an interactive discussion with the members on the activities of the state government with regards to his ministry.

Dr Chizaram Bob Ogu appreciated the commissioner for honoring the invitation while assuring their readiness to support the Ikpeazu led administration.

High point of the program was the presentation of Squash sports kit to the commissioner and the inspection of the newly renovated modern Glassback Squash Court and Squash Lounge.

The squash section attracted the presence of the TC Chairman of Aba South, Pharm Cherechi Nwogu, the 66th president of Aba sports club, Chief Jerry Okechukwu Kalu among other dignitaries.
