Pray for Unity, Peace of Nigeria at Eid-al Fitr, Uko Nkole urges Abia Muslim Community

By Augustine Akomas. 23 May, 2020.

I have urged the Muslim community in the state to see the period of Eid-el Fitr as a moment of sober reflection and pray for the unity, peace and progress of the Nigeria nation.

2.) I gave this charge  when the Muslim Community, led by the Chief Imam of Abia, Sheikh Ali Ukiwo paid me a courtesy call at my Ozu Abam country home today, Friday May 22, 2020 stressing that there is urgent need to pray for God's divine intervention especially in this period of COVID-19 pandemic.

3.) While felicitating with all Muslim faithful in Abia for the successful completion of the Ramadan fast to mark the Eid-el Fitr celebration coming up next week, I prayed to Almighty Allah to bring more joy, peace and prosperity on the blessed occasion of Eid-al Fitr celebration.

"I wish you and all other Muslim faithful a very happy celebration and I want to thank you for this courtesy visit and therefore,  urged the Muslim community to use this period of fasting as a moment of sober reflection and pray for the unity, peace, progress and God's divine intervention especially this period of covid-19 pandemic which is ravaging the world."

4.) Earlier in his speech, the Abia Chief Imam applauded me for my open door policy, as well as the existing cordial relationship with the people, while describing me as a grassroots political leader.

5.) Further, Sheikh Ali outlined the various captivating qualities of Hon. Nkole, ranging from humility, tolerance, sincerity and  uprightness, pointing out that the aforementioned traits have distinguished me and endeared many as a political office holder.

" We have come today to familiarize ourselves with you. You are the only federal lawmaker that responds to peoples calls and SMS notwithstanding the status, your humility, kind gestures and political narratives across and beyond your federal constituency endeared us to you hence, why we Muslim community in Abia decided to come and pay you this courtesy call", he added.

6.) The highlight of the visit was a section of special prayer by the Chief Imam, for me, asking Allah to bless, protect and lift me higher in my future political endeavors.

7.) Meanwhile, the Chief Imam's delegation comprised his wife and the Women's leader, Muslim community in Abia, Hajia Saadat Ali, Alhaji Jimoh Raifiu,  Leader Yoruba Muslim community, and Idris Mohammed, Abia Muslim Community Youth leader.
