Collaboration Key To Acquiring Reliable Data ~ Dr. Akomas
Nigeria's Indices and Disbursement Committee, says collaboration from the National Population Commission and relevant bodies is germane to acquiring reliable data for the interest of Nigeria.
The Chairman Indices and Disbursement (RMAFC), and former Deputy Governor in Abia State, Dr Chris Akomas, disclosed this at a meeting between his Commission and the National Population Commission held at NPC's Headquarters in Abuja.
Dr. Akomas, noted that NPC play a pivotal role in keeping vital data for usage, stressing that data from the Commission is critical to the success of the Indices and Disbursement Committe which work in tandem with the NPC so as to secure an accurate data for the entire nation which is key to the overall development of the country.
He said the meeting between the two Commissions, is centered on strengthening the existing working relationship between the NPC and RMAFC with an agreement of making available an accurate data for the nation.
Dr. Akomas, reiterated that going forward, the NPC and RMAFC must synergize in a bid to get the information required in a manner that it will be reliable, credible, transparent and benefit all and sundry.
Speaking, Acting Chairman, National Population Commission, Eyitayo Oyetunji, pledged the willingness and corporation of the NPC to render the necessary support needed by the Indices and Disbursement Committee in actualising this heaculan task for the best interest of Nigerians.
For the past fifteen years, Nigeria has not conducted a national census despite an increase in her population.
