BENDE LOCAL GOVERNMENT FLAG OFF 2020 NATIONAL IMMUNIZATION PLUS DAYS CAMPAIGN

The Wife of The Transition Committee Chairman for Bende Local Government Area Mrs Uju Hagler Okorie has called on Mothers, Caregivers, Churches, Schools to help maintain the polio free status of Nigeria and Abia State by allowing vacinators entry into their premises /houses for vaccination of their children within 0-5yesrs.
The Wife of the TC Chairman made the call during the flag off of the 2020 National immunization plus days campaign at Bende Local Government Council Headquarters.
Speaking during the flag off, Mrs Okorie noted that Health is one of the cardinal initiatives of the Governor of Abia State Dr Victor Okezie Ikpeazu, She thanked the wife of the Governor Deacones Nkechi Ikpeazu for her efforts in reducing infant morality rate and improving the status of vulnerable/indigent women through her Vicar Hope foundation and save a million life program and called on parents to ensure that they present their children for immunization against polio from Saturday 15th to Tuesday 18th February 2020
Earlier in her address, The Health Authority Secretary for Bende Local Government Area Mrs Chika Njoku Ihunanya said the National immunization plus days is a period set aside to vaccinate every child from 0-5yesrs with 2drops of polio vaccine in the mouth irrespective of previous immunization status to eradicate poliomyelitis, she called on all and sundry to support the program to make sure Bende has 100% coverage so as to maintain the certification of Nigeria and Abia state as polio free society and good health for all initiative of our dear Governor.
Highlight of the program include Health talks on family planning/good healthful living and distribution of gift materials to nursing Mothers by the Wife of the Transition Committee Chairman for Bende Local Government Area.
