Isu Vs Cross River Border Clash: Gov. Ikpeazu Promises Permanent Solution To Incessant War.
Governor Okezie Victor Ikpeazu of Abia State has assured a delegation from Arochukwu LGA of the proactive steps by his administration in their quest to curb the incessant border clashes involving Isu Community and their neighbors from Cross River State.
The Governor stated this during his meeting with the Stakeholders of the Peoples Democratic Party from the LGA, led by Senator Mao Ohuabunwa, at the Governor’s Lodge in Aba.
Governor Ikpeazu who promised the Stakeholders Of inclusiveness assured the entire people of Arochukwu that no part of the state would be sidelined in the administration’s developmental agenda, while also assuring that an access road leading into the community would be constructed to ease movement by the people there.
Base on the dispute, the Governor had met with the community’s counterpart, Cross River State on the subject matter, adding “and the State Executive Council has approved the immediate construction of a Police Station in Isu with accommodation facilities for the officers”, the release read.
He further assured that the State Ministry of Works will immediately assess the Okobo Arochukwu Road with a view to commencing work there.
On the issue of elevation of indigenes of Arochukwu in the State Public Service, the Governnor assured that his administration would not leave any section of the State behind and that deserving public servants will always be elevated irrespective of where they come.
